Looking for Speakers

PubhD needs you! To speak at our events, that is.  The format of each night is simple: three speakers will each get 30 minutes to speak on their research, made up of a simple 10 minute presentation and 20 minutes of (friendly) questioning from the audience. As well as the experience you’ll gain presenting to our audiences, and the chance to be part of an offbeat research community, we’ll buy you a pint in exchange for time and imparted wisdom.

Right now, we are compiling a list of speakers.  Do you want to be on our list?  We’re seeking people from all disciplines. The original PubhD began in Nottingham in November 2013, and since then they have had speakers from the fields of Biology, Music, Politics, Neuroscience, Media, Medicine, Philosophy, Astrophysics, Literature, Physics, Psychology, Art & Design, Geoscience and Archaeology.  If you can explain your research succinctly and in an interesting way, then there’s room for you at PubhD Manchester!

February Events

In February 2015, we will be hosting our first talks in Manchester and Salford.  If you’re a postgrad or postdoc at The University of Manchester, MMU, or Salford University, we’d love to hear from you! Give us a brief synopsis of your work, and we can add you to our list of speakers.  Venues are yet to be announced, but they’ll be near to the Universities, and student-friendly.
Speakers are welcomed from all disciplines; in fact the more diverse, the better.  If you’re interested in giving a 10-minute talk on your resrach with a 20 minute Q&A (plus a free pint!), then email us at pubhdmanchester@gmail.com.
